Peter and Dad configured the camera for the best color and focus, and I set up a brightly-lit space for taking pictures. It was really groovy. When people started to be ready to take pictures, I set up some practice shots:

It was great fun. The groups of four are what we jokingly referred to as "Mom's kids" and "Dad's kids," because of the slightly stronger resemblance each group bears to a particular parent.

Abbi, not pictured, was a darling. She helped with all the solo portraits and made everything fun. She was our own personal makeup artist and "stylus." We'll be doing the same thing for the Sherer family next week, when they're here. I can't wait!
In closing, here is some Internet wisdom on cow tipping (from the Wikipedia deleted nonsense page):
If you succeed in tipping a cow only partway, such that only one of its feet is still on the ground, you have created lean beef. Such a feat is well done. Naturally, being outside, the cow is unstable. When it falls over, it becomes ground beef.
